At the heart of the collection are freshwater pearls in a variety of natural shapes—from nearly round to uniquely irregular baroque forms—each celebrated for its own character and individuality. Unlike perfectly round pearls, baroque pearls are shaped freely by nature, giving each one a sculptural character and a sense of effortless exclusivity. The term “baroque” comes from the Portuguese barroco and Spanish barrueco, words originally used to describe irregularly shaped pearls, and later associated with the ornate artistic style of 17th-century Europe. Baroque pearls are cultivated pearls, grown on pearl farms inside mollusks, and celebrated for their irregular, non-symmetrical shapes. Unlike traditional round pearls, they can be oval, button-shaped, pinched, circled, or entirely free-form, with their contours shaped by the unique environment inside the mollusk that created them. No two baroque pearls are ever identical—each one is a miniature sculpture, a frozen moment of nature’s unpredictable creativity.
